Energy Rebate of 75% of the Cost and 0% Financing Options
RetroFit Insulation is a participating contractor provider for MassSave, Energy Federation Inc, NSTAR and National Grid.
Here are two programs that are available to Massachusetts residents:
Home Energy Assessments Program
Homeowners may be eligible for a no-cost home energy assessment. An energy expert will look at your home from roof to basement and identify where energy efficiency improvements can be made.

You could receive a 75% rebate up to $2,000 to complete recommended energy efficiency improvements.
HEAT Loan Program
The HEAT Loan Program provides customers the opportunity to apply for a 0% loan from participating lenders to assist customers with the installation of qualified energy efficient improvements in their homes. The loans are available up-to $10,000 with terms up-to 7 years. To apply for the loan, the customer must own and reside in a one to four family residence and obtain a Home Energy Assessment through the MassSAVE Program.
How the HEAT Loan Program works
- Customer must sign up for a Home Energy Assessment from an authorized MassSAVE vendor.
- A MassSAVE representative will assess your energy efficiency improvement needs and determine what improvements are eligible for financing. The representative will provide the customer with HEAT Loan Intake Form, Program Steps and Minimum Standards and Requirements.
- Obtain pre-approval from a participating lender if you choose.
- Obtain written contractor price proposal(s) for the installation of the improvements.
- Forward the proposal(s) for review and approval by your MassSAVE HEAT Loan administrator listed on your electric utility or Cape Light Compact’s HEAT Loan Intake Form.
- Once approved you will receive a HEAT Loan Authorization Form from the MassSAVE vendor that authorizes the lender to process the HEAT Loan.
- Finalize the loan with a participating lender and obtain two party checks.
- Measures are installed and MassSAVE conducts a post installation inspection on the installed improvements.

Rhode Island Residential Gas: Weatherization
Weatherization measures include insulation (attic, wall, basement, crawl space, rim joist, or pipe), ductwork leakage testing and sealing, air infiltration testing and sealing, and infrared inspection. Many times, weatherization is the most cost-effective way to improve efficiency and comfort. You may even save up to 20% on your heating and cooling costs.
Call EnergyWise at 1-888-633-7947 to schedule your in-home energy audit. If the auditor recommends weatherization for your home, you will be referred to a pre-approved insulation contractor. Once the weatherization measures are completed and the installation is inspected for quality, health, and safety, you will be eligible for an incentive of 50% of the cost of insulation (up to $1,500). Plus, National Grid will cover 100% of the cost of air sealing, up to $750. With the help of this incentive, these valuable home improvements become much more affordable for you.
