Wall Foam Insulation

Wall Foam Insulation Benefits:   Higher R-Value   |   Healthier Air Quality   |   Quieter Home   |   Fire Safety   |   Easy Installation

RetroFit Insulation installs premium wall foam insulation in homes and commercial buildings in Rhode Island. Tripolymer® Foam Insulation is a cold setting foam that is injected in the wall cavity of your home or office through specially engineered metering equipment by RetroFit Insulation's skilled technicians. Our wall foam easily flows into nooks, crannies, and cavities in your walls and will seal your home from outside cold and help to eliminate drafts. It hardens within 60 seconds of injection.

Many of our clients live in condos and other structures where exterior excess is prohibited in most cases. Our wall foam and blown-in Rockwool insulation creates no messy clean-up or long installation process when installing from the interior. There's no need to tear out walls to insulate. Most RI residential insulation installations are completed in 1 or 2 days with no major disruptions to the homeowner.

Higher R-value means lower energy bills

RetroFit Foam (Tripolymer®) has the highest R-value (5.1 per inch) of any RetroFit insulation, and it will not settle over time and lose R-value like some other insulations. It is also an excellent sound proofing material, reducing outside sounds by 80%.

R-value is the rating of efficiency for insulation, so when you purchase insulation, you are purchasing R-value. R represents resistance to the movement of temperature through your walls and ceilings. The higher R-Value, the more control you have over your environment.

At right is a bar graph showing commonly used wall insulating materials. As shown, Retrofit foam has a superior 5.1 R-value per inch (4 inch wall = 20.4 R-value). It has the highest R-value (5.1 per inch) of any insulating product used in existing homes. Its R-value is a full 45% greater than blown fiberglass and 30% above the best blown-in cellulose!

RetroFit Foam Provides the Highest R-Value for the Lowest Cost

RetroFit Insulation, Inc. installs RetroFit Foam, which has the highest R-value of any RetroFit insulation available today, 5.1 R-value per inch, 45% greater than blown in fiberglass and 30% above the best blown in cellulose! This is all the more reason to use RetroFit Foam in your RI home.

Many homes in the United States don't have adequate insulation. The U.S. Department of Energy estimates that only 20% of homes built prior to 1980 are well-insulated. And because building codes did not require insulation before the mid-1970's, many older homes have no insulation at all.

RetroFit Foam can save you as much as 50% on your energy bills. RetroFit Foam is also highly fire reistant, rated a CLASS 1 Building Material, the highest rating an insulation product can receive. It is environmentally safe, non-toxic, water repellant, highly fire resistant, insect and rodent resistant, and does not contain any form of asbestos.

RetroFit Insulation,Inc. can install RetroFit Foam for less. Using today's installed pricing as a basis for the cost per R-unit per square foot of wall on Fiberglass, Cellulose, and RetroFit Foam, and taking 3 3/4" as the average exterior wall thickness in your home, installing fiberglass in the exterior walls will cost you about 21.2 cents per R. Using blown in cellulose it will cost you 18.0 cents per R, while using RetroFit Foam cost 17.5 cents per R unit per square foot. RetroFit Foam wins again! Compare RetroFit Foam to other insulation products like: Perlite, Vermiculite, Blown Glass, Cellulose, and Fiberglass. It is clear that RetroFit Foam outperforms others.

Healthier air quality and comfortable home environment

RetroFit insulation helps achieve a healthier, more comfortable home environment.

RetroFit Insulation, Inc. installs RetroFit Foam, which creates a sealed thermal envelope. When properly installed as by the technicians at RetroFit, the insulation conforms and fills each cavity, crevice and void. Because there are no fibers or "clumps" of loose matter, RetroFit Foam contributes to the overall well-being and comfort of a home's occupants. The insulation also limits dust and unhealthy household mold and mildew by lessening air infiltration. In an environment like southeastern New England's, RetroFit Foam provides a healthier, draft-free, indoor environment with no harmful emissions that can cause allergic reactions.

Stops Bacteria and Fungal Growth

RetroFit Foam is not prone to bacterial decomposition, powdering or dripping over time. In contrast, other insulations with little structural strength and molecular bonding such as urea-formaldehyde can be subject to decomposing.

Non-hazardous, environmentally safe foam insulation

When tested in accordance with the Federal Hazardous Substances Act, RetroFit Foam's by-products of combustion are significantly less toxic than those produced by the burning of white pine ... a common wood used extensively in residential home construction. When tested for hazardous materials as listed in the EPA's Emergency Planning Community Right to Know Act under sections 311 & 312, test results show no toxic materials were detected, and combined Formaldehyde were again undetected at a level of 0.0007%.

With an STC rating of 53, this Sound Transmission Class rating means that RetroFit Foam is one of the most effective sound insulators on the market. This insulation system lends itself to new construction, interior partition walls, as well as existing construction where noise problems become evident. A minimum thickness of 2" is recommended. RetroFit Foam is excellent acoustical material for interior partitions, reducing sound levels as much as 23.5 dB between 500 and 4,000 Hz.

RetroFit Foam Insulation reduces the resonance vibration of interior finishes which normally amplify the sound levels. The actual amount of noise reduction is effected by the composite wall and ceiling construction.

Inside sounds will be reduced, as well, as RetroFit Foam deadens noise from water and waste lines too. As you can see, RetroFit Foam is a sound investment in peace of mind in more ways than one!
